Quality Standard Accreditation

About FETN Quality Standard Accreditation:

FETN is passionate about enabling organisations to improve all aspects of their tutorial provision and the QSA is one of the most successful tools we use in that journey towards excellence.

During the QSA process organisations are guided in a friendly and supportive manner. We work collaboratively to help evaluate the quality of your tutorial provision and explore strategies for improvement.

The QSA Suite comprises three separate Quality Standard Accreditations:

QSA 1: Supporting Individual Progress and Development

QSA 2: Providing Pastoral Support and Wellbeing

QSA 3: Supporting Personal, Social and Wider Skills Development

Each Quality Standard leads you to consider three aspects of provision:

  1. Practice and Engagement
  2. Management and Co-ordination
  3. Continuous Quality Improvement

You can choose to undertake one or more QSA(s) depending on the area(s) of provision you would like accredited. In order to achieve FETN accreditation you will be asked to reflect on and demonstrate how your organisation works collaboratively and effectively to meet the needs of your learners as outlined in the QSA specification.

The Process:

More Than a Quality Mark:

The QSA process is a journey towards excellence. Your QSA Consultant will be on-hand to guide you every step of the way, acting as your critical friend. They will provide expertise and guidance on working towards accreditation and advice on how to use the process for your annual self-assessment, preparation for inspection and quality improvement. To recognise your organisation’s achievement you will receive a certificate and licence to display the relevant QSA logo on your materials, website and other social media for the period of accreditation.

Testimonials:

The Quality Standard Accreditation process has been a real journey for us. The process of reviewing what we do gave us a perfect opportunity to highlight any areas for improvement and change. Our mindset has completely shifted and we now regularly review all aspects of our tutorial provision to ensure that what we are doing is meaningful, purposeful and has the most impact on our young people.  Learning walks and programme reviews are now welcomed and we continue to work towards providing the best possible service for our students.City of Stoke on Trent Sixth Form College

“It has been really interesting undertaking the QSA process.  It has allowed us to see as an organisation where our strengths and areas for improvement are and it has allowed us to consider our model of tutorial provision.
